The History of this Temple
This Jain temple was built in the 11th century. Stambhan Parshwanath Jinalaya in Anand is one of the oldest and famous pilgrim sites in the state of Gujarat. This is predominantly a Jain shrine situated in the middle of the Gambhu village in Khambat region. In ancient era, Gambhu was the central place of importance for Jain community in India. It was the capital of surrounding 144 villages. The history of the village is stated to take you back as early as the ninth century of the Vikrama era. Gambhu village has several temples of diverse gods and goddesses.Ancient Jain literature of Gambhira also known as Gambhuta, inspired the architecture of this Jainalaya. The building is a two storied complex with intricate carving and colorful facade. It is a very famous Jain temple in the whole of Gujarat state.
History of Parshwanath Bhagwan
The idol of Shri Gambhira Parshwanath Bhagavan placed in this temple is considered to be there since the times of king Samprati of the 11 century ancient India.
